Insight East has highlighted a number of statistics included in the recent National Business Survey which relate to the east of England.
It has noted that, of those organisations polled, 20 per cent felt they had performed better in the 12-month period leading up to the November survey.
Meanwhile, 72 per cent of those queried anticipate that more positive signs will appear in the country''s business climate in the run up to November 2010.
Insight East''s director Glenn Athey believes that there are certain areas that eastern companies should focus on to continue their development.
"Spend on R&D has remained robust but this, and investment in skills, must be maintained across all sectors to ensure rapid economic recovery and success," he commented.
Earlier this month, issues relating to the east''s economic development were touched upon in the East of England Implementation Plan which was produced by a number of bodies including the East of England Development Agency.
