The role of British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Council chair is to be taken on by Jane Holderness-Roddam CBE LVO, the organisation has announced.

She will take over from Linda Whetstone in the role, the federation's website has reported, with Ms Holderness-Roddam being unanimously elected by those attending the organisation's AGM earlier in the month.

The new council chair has outlined what she hopes to achieve during her time in the position.

Speaking in an article on the BEF's site, she stated: "I am thrilled to be taking on this chair over a period which will see us hosting the greatest show on earth - the Olympic Games."

Meanwhile, the expert went on to say that the BEF is an "outstanding" equestrian federation.

Earlier in the month, the organisation confirmed that its Coaching Convention is due to be held on October 19th at Stoneleigh Park, with workshops among the activities that are due to take place.
