The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has called upon UK consumers to make the most of the Gift Aid donation tool.
According to the organisation, each pound that people donate to charity with the help of this service sees 28 pence added on by HM Revenue and Customs.
At present, the organisation has reiterated the fact that on an annual basis, the country is seeing as much as £750 million worth of Gift Aid stay unclaimed.
The CAF's director of research Richard Harrison feels that tax is something that people should take into account when considering charitable donations.
He stated: "Even if you don't feel you can afford to give more, ensure that you boost your donations by giving tax effectively."
Earlier in the summer, the CAF's chief executive John Low suggested that the UK could benefit from a major simplification of the current processing system that applies to Gift Aid.
