While the general economy may have finally escaped its recession, the Charities Aid Foundation''s (CAF) chief executive suggests that uncertainty persists in the UK''s charity sector.
According to John Low, there are a number of areas which still need clarifying in relation to the country''s not-for-profit organisations.
He has questioned: "What''s going to happen to charities after the election and the inevitable government spending cuts?"
The expert continued: "Will inflation and rising interest rates have an adverse effect on both charities and the recovery?"
Mr Low went on to suggest that even greater strain may be placed on charities in the near future, due to a likely reduction in public sector spending.
As a result, he believes that fundraising and innovation are two areas that not-for-profit bodies will need to focus on in the coming months.
Meanwhile, CAF has also recently highlighted the large amount of charitable donations that have been made to Haiti by UK consumers, following the country''s earthquake last month.
