The long-term future of the dairy farming industry is among the issues that are due to be discussed at a forthcoming event staged by the National Federation of Women's Institutes (NFWI) and the National Farmers' Union (NFU).
According to the organisations, the Great Milk Debate will be taking place in November of this year, with the tactics used by UK supermarkets also set to be reviewed.
The purpose of the event has been highlighted by the NFWI's chair Ruth Bond.
She stated: "By revisiting the Great Milk Debates we hope to show that consumers have a real stake in the vibrancy of the British dairy industry."
Ms Bond went on to suggest that concerns have been raised that some farmers in the dairy sector may be having difficulty getting by at the moment.
In related news, the NFU has also recently announced that it has developed an Audit Pack in a bid to help grower members who are taking part in the Assured Produce Scheme audit process.
