EEDA reveals 2020 food and farming strategy

A new strategy to develop the food and farming sectors in eastern parts of the country has been published by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA).

In a bid to deal with environmental issues and a growing food demand, the 2020 Vision for the East of England Food and Farming Sector aims to involve a number of organisations, operating in both the public and private spheres.

The body''s chief executive Deborah Cadman believes that the east of England''s food and farming sectors will have an important role to play when the economy begins to recover.

She said: "With a world class research base, temperate climate, productive soils and progressive businesses, this region has been at the forefront of agricultural development for well over a century."
