Harman: Equality Bill designed to make society fairer

The government''s Equality Bill should help to make the UK''s society a fairer one, a minister believes.
With the aim of tackling many of the issues surrounding things like age discrimination and gender pay transparency, the Bill has passed through the House of Commons, with members of the House of Lords now set to look at it.
The country''s women and equality minister Harriet Harman believes that the proposed legislation could lead to a number of positive developments.

She said: "This Bill will make Britain a more equal place, and help us build a stronger economy and fairer society for the future."
Last month, Ms Harman also highlighted the importance of the Together We Can End Violence Against Women and Girls initiative, which was recently launched by the government.
The campaign seeks to reduce the number of the country''s females who suffer from crimes such as domestic violence.
