Demand for housing in the UK has recently proven larger than supply, according to one property organisation.
Last month saw 287 potential home buyers registered with estate agent branches on average, according to figures published by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).
However, the body believes that during the same period, branches only had 57 properties on average.
The NAEA''s president Gary Smith suggests that the recent demand for property is a welcome development.

The NAEA''s president Gary Smith suggests that the recent demand for property is a welcome development.
He said: "Many buyers are at the very beginning of the house buying process and this is creating a lack of properties in the short term."
Mr Smith added that an extension of the holiday on Stamp Duty could continue "the momentum of market recovery".
The NAEA last month joined a coalition group calling for Stamp Duty to be reformed in the UK, in order to help people who want to opt for home ownership.
