The organisations are using this week''s Conservative Party conference in Manchester to unveil their New Directions for Renting: A New Vision for the Private-Rented Sector report, which seeks to highlight how the sector could offer a viable source of affordable housing.
NLA chairman David Salusbury commented that access to the private-rented sector should be improved, while it is important that cases of bad practice are addressed.
He added: "We know that most landlords are professional, business-orientated individuals, but we also know that a small minority of rogue operators continue to bring the entire sector into disrepute."
The NLA recently launched an online database, listing its members in a bid to try and raise standards within the letting market.
