EU funding might become available to trade organisations in the near future, if they are looking to use the internal market to promote agricultural products.

Such bodies are now able to make applications for European funding, the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) has confirmed, with November 30th due to be the deadline for submissions.

The RPA's website has listed all of the products that trade organisations may be able to market with the help of the funding.

Products such as seed oils, poultry meat and fibre flax are said to be among the eligible items.

Meanwhile, trade organisations looking to promote fresh fruit and vegetables are additionally eligible for the EU finance, the RPA has revealed.

Towards the beginning of this month, the role of interim chief executive within the RPA was taken on by Richard Judge.

He will serve in the position for three to six months, it is believed.
