In a recent feature for Farmer''s Weekly, the mixed arable and beef farmer Monty Andrew revealed that he gained permission to introduce a vertical axis wind turbine to his land near Stamford in Lincolnshire within a matter of weeks.

According to the magazine''s Emily Padfield, who spoke to Mr Andrew, the farmer opted for the vertical axis option as planning permission for horizontal axis wind turbines can sometimes be difficult to obtain.

He is now hoping to improve his earnings by exporting some of the energy he produces, while making savings on energy bills.

Meanwhile, the government''s Department of Energy and Climate last month pledged new financial support towards the country''s clean technology sector, in a bid to continue the development of renewable energy resources.ADNFCR-2386-ID-19402113-ADNFCR
