British horseracing requires "modernised levy"
Date posted: 23 Apr 2010
A modernised horseracing levy needs to be developed in the UK, according to the BHA's chairman.

The chairman of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has outlined two key areas where he feels changes can be made to improve the industry.
It was recently announced that Paul Roy has been granted approval to serve another term as the organisation's chairman.
Mr Roy now believes that attempts should be made to ensure the racing levy is adequate.
He commented: "We have to generate the right level of income through a modernised levy to meet racing's needs."
The chairman went on to say that action also needs to be taken in the near future to widen the current horseracing audience.
Following his reappointment, Mr Roy will now act as the BHA's chairman for a further three-year period.
Last week, the authority also confirmed that its Flat Racing Committee is now set to include Nick Luck and Paul Greeves.
This is because Howard Wright and John Dunlop are stepping down from the committee.
