The coalition government's approach to failing universities offers some cause for concern, according to the million+ chief executive.

The chief executive of one higher education think tank has expressed concern about the government's attitude towards failing universities.
According to Pam Tatlow of million+, it is worrying to hear ministers suggest that failing universities might not be provided with support from the coalition.
She stated: "We have got to have a concern that the government has said that it would allow universities to fail.
"This approach would certainly damage the reputation of UK higher education."
Further assurance needs to be offered by the government in a bid to help out the country's universities, Ms Tatlow went on to say.
The expert feels that ministers should demonstrate to higher education bodies that the university system is valued by them.
Of those vice chancellors polled in a recent PA Consulting Group survey, 74 per cent feel that some universities may end up failing in the future due to funding cutbacks.
