CML expert: House transactions currently at low levels
Date posted: 28 Apr 2010
Relatively few house transactions are currently being made in the UK property market, an expert has noted.

The number of house transactions being made in the UK is currently relatively low, according to one expert.
A spokesperson from the Council of Mortgage Lenders has commented that few consumers appear to be willing to purchase new homes or take out mortgages at the present time.
She stated: "At the end of last year there was quite a high number [of transactions] because people were galvanised into acting by the end of stamp duty holiday. Obviously that has finished now."
Meanwhile, when it comes to house prices, the spokesperson added that the coming months are likely to see values remain fairly flat.
Her remarks follow the publication of recent Hometrack figures relating to the country's property prices.
The organisation believes that this month has seen a 0.2 per cent rise in house prices.
This is said to compare to the rate of 0.3 per cent that was witnessed last month.
