During the first quarter of 2010, East Anglia and the Midlands witnessed a rise in construction workloads, Rics has revealed.

A rise in construction workloads was seen in East Anglia and the Midlands in the first three-month period of this year, recent figures have suggested.
Across the country, five per cent more of the surveyors queried by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) saw their workloads go up instead of down during this period.
In the East Anglia and Midlands region, the organisation has revealed that ten per cent more surveyors saw increases in their workloads instead of declines.
However, the Rics chief economist Simon Rubinsohn has noted that these figures do not necessarily mean that surveyors are feeling any more optimistic.
He stated: "The continuing lack of development finance remains a major obstacle to a sustainable recovery with surveyors still pessimistic about future prospects."
Last month, Rics also revealed that in Northern Ireland, 59 per cent more surveyors reported workload decreases rather than rises in 2010's first quarter.
