The internet is something that the UK's entrepreneurs might be able to take advantage of, it has been noted.

Entrepreneurs aiming to take their business plans to the next level might want to make the most of the opportunities provided by the web, one expert has suggested.

Online business costs are likely to be relatively low for new start-up companies, according to Chris Wickson of Ratemyplacement.co.uk.

"There's a lot more opportunity to set up a business online and you can give yourself a professional front even if you're actually running out of the bedroom," Mr Wickson, the co-founder of the recruitment website, commented.

University leavers in particular might want to tap into the potential offered by the net, according to the expert.

This is because they already have lots of experience of using it, he went on to say.

In relation to the UK's education system, Mr Wickson added that schools should focus more on employability skills in a bid to help young people gain useful workplace attributes.
