The government has reminded the country''s larger businesses that a major new low carbon initiative is due to come into force from the beginning of next month.
It is thought that the project, named the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, will encourage a number of bigger firms to look at how their commercial properties could become more sustainable.
Joan Ruddock, the government''s minister for energy and climate change, suggests that the scheme could benefit more than just the environment.

She commented: "This is a real opportunity for business and industry to take a leadership role in tackling climate change and gain reputational advantage as a result."
A variety of larger-scale organisations will need to fulfil the requirements of the initiative, with hotels and supermarkets among those set to take part.
Energy efficiency seems to be an area of focus for the government both in the commercial and domestic property sectors.
Earlier in the year, ministers gave homeowners the chance to take part in a boiler scrappage scheme.
