Uplands businesses can play a part in the country's renewable energy plans, a CLA expert has pointed out.

The renewable energy plans of some rural businesses may currently be held back by planning restrictions, one expert has suggested.
Henry Robinson, the Country Land and Business Association's (CLA) vice president, has highlighted the potential roles that such firms can play when it comes to the generation of green energy.
However, discussing the High Ground, High Potential - A Future for England's Upland Communities report published by the Commission for Rural Communities (CRC), he noted one area which the study failed to address.
He stated: "It would be preferable if the report had gone further in recognising the need to remove some of the restrictions, particularly within the planning system, that inhibit the roll-out of alternative sources of supplying energy."
Despite these views, Mr Robinson did describe the report as being intelligently put together.
According to the CRC, the amount of support which is currently provided to the country's hill farming sector may not be adequate.
