The UK's female employees are still facing a gender pay gap, according to a TUC expert.

A gender pay gap is still being faced by the country's female workers, it has been highlighted.
According to a spokesperson from the Trades Union Congress (TUC), there is still a lot of work to do to address this gap.
She stated: "Girls have been outperforming boys in education for over a decade, but this advantage has failed to fully translate into the workplace."
Flexible working is one area that could be developed further in order to tackle the pay gap, the representative believes, while pay secrecy should also be looked into by the government.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson would also like to see more value given to jobs that women traditionally fill.
Research published by the Future Foundation and Friends Provident earlier this year revealed that as many as a third of the country's residents feel that it might be ten years or more before the UK witnesses proper wage equality.
