Children and parenting issues
The needs of children caught up in a relationship breakdown should be paramount. Finding mutually acceptable solutions can prove challenging, however, especially if the parents are of different nationalities or cultural backgrounds, or one partner wants to move far away from the former home after separation.
All our family lawyers practice private children law and have expertise in dealing with child-related disputes between parents. Many of our clients have benefited from dealing with such issues in a mediation setting, with the security of knowing that there is legal advice available in the background should they require it. However, whilst we would always encourage parents to agree childcare arrangements between themselves, we are adept at recognising when the intervention of the courts is in the children’s best interests, and at conducting child-related court applications on behalf of clients.
