Faith Groups
Taylor Vinters works with faith groups not just to help them to operate within the law, but to enable them to think more broadly about the best way of carrying out their vision and mission.
For all organisations, there are key themes to be addressed. How do you ensure that the relationship between those making decisions and those implementing them is clearly understood? How in practice do you involve members and others in your work in a way that helps rather than hinders what you are trying to achieve? What amounts to a prudent assessment of risk to the charity? How should you safeguard the organisation’s resources but still ensure they are being used well? Can you use the need for regulatory compliance – for example with the Charity Commission – as an opportunity rather than it being merely a burden?
The way we work
The particular challenges that faith-based organisations face are diverse, and require a clear understanding of:
- the context in which they operate
- the concerns of their members, congregations and supporters, and
- the strategic aims of the organisation
We recognise that there is little point simply giving you the correct “legal” answer if its implications are not thought through, and if it does not accord with your organisation’s ultimate objectives. We prefer to make sure that what we recommend is appropriate and relevant, that you are given the information you need to make good decisions as a result, and that you are equipped to implement those decisions effectively.
