Trustees’ responsibilities - overseas charity

If you expand internationally, how does that affect the responsibilities of the board, and how should they minimise risk to the organisation?

Trustee / trustee directors remain responsible for overseas operations over which the organisation has legal control. In practice, this level of responsibility means careful thought needs to be given to the adequacy of governance structures to achieve appropriate flows of information between each country, clarity about who is doing what and where on a day to day basis and more significantly who is authorised to do what, where, day to day.
