Last year saw UK employees numbering 5.07 million work overtime for no money on a regular basis, new figures have revealed.
While this is said to be lower than the figure recorded in 2008, the Trades Union Congress (TUC) believes that a sum of £27.4 billion was essentially given away by these members of staff.

However, he commented: "Millions of people are still working far too many hours and often they are not even being paid for it.
"This long hours culture causes stress and damages people''s health."
Meanwhile, Mr Barber has also recently addressed the subject of the poor weather conditions that may currently be affecting some members of the UK''s workforce.
He suggests that employees that fail to make it into work should not be penalised by their companies.
